Febuary 2019 Progress Update

Since first opening our Patreon in mid December, we've been completely overwhelmed by the amount of support we've gotten. In our first two months alone we've already gotten:

-5 Sponsored Party Membrers

-3 Sponsored NPCs

and

-2 Sponsored Mini-bosses!

Seeing the excitement people have to be a part of HorrorVale has certainly invigorated us!

Some of the Party Members you've already seen include characters such as Jack, the sly gangster Pumpkin man, Scotty the Scarecrow, and Fluch the Card Knight.

These Sponsored Party Members will not only be joining HorrorVale, but will be joining Alice herself on her journey! There's a limited number of these guys, only 6 Slots left!

Now, it's time to give the update on the progress of the game itself:

Right now, the current main focus is what lies beyond the electric gates in the demo:

A dangerous, rural area of the town of HorrorVale known as HorrorVale Heights.

This high rise cliff area sits in the Northern most part of HorrorVale, and is full of baddies a lot less friendly than the ones in town.

High atop Mt. HorrorVale lies Alice's next destination, Mayor Finkleheim's Lab. Getting there will be no easy feat!

However, a little crow told me there's also other additions including the completion of the Element System.

Using Jekyll's Scan ability (Or other Party Member equivalents...) you'll be able to take a peek at an enemies weaknesses and strengths.

Learning and taking advantage of these weaknesses will add another level of strategy to the world of HorrorVale. Your classmate Anthony will give you a brief explanation of the system as well as a book detailing  individual weaknesses.

The same little crow also told me that there may even be more Generators than the demo!?

Well, one more generator.

The trees west of Lugosi Lane have been cleared, and a path to a new area in town has opened up...

Finally, through the month of January and Febuary we held our very first Make your Monster Contest!
This contest had fans design their own enemies and submit them for a chance to be in the game. 10 Finalists would be picked, and then voted on. The Winner, and two Developer choices would then be added to the game.

We received an overwhelming 100 submissions in only 2 weeks and as a result, also held an additional bonus vote called the Lightning Round, where we picked 10 more Finalists that would be voted on to become an NPC instead of an enemy.

Below are the victors of both votes!

First up is the Winner of the Vote and holder of the Fabled Golden Pumpkin, the Candle Conductor! He was designed by TickingGears! https://twitter.com/TickingGears

Then the winners of the Developer Choice Awards. These two were picked out of the other 9 Finalists who didn’t win by myself and Matt personally. Puppet Boyo was designed by SoupyG! https://twitter.com/SoupGamer

Crocoffin was designed by Evermoor Industries! https://twitter.com/5ukku5

However, as previously mentioned we also held a special Lightning Round vote with 10 other Finalists, with the winners joining HorrorVale as NPCs instead of enemies! The winners of that vote are as follows:

Skele-TON, the massive hulking bone man won the vote by an incredibly STRONG margin, and is now ready to join HorrorVale! He was designed by El Charlemagne! https://twitter.com/Knightkingsly

And just like before, two Developer picks were chosen out of the bunch by myself and Matt.

Fungail was designed by Alexander Neish! https://twitter.com/MVR_the_Creator

Beauty was designed by Billy Mayabb! https://twitter.com/CaptainOrko

We can’t wait to add the winners to the game, and are excited to see what people come up with for future contests!

Once again, thanks to everyone for your support of HorrorVale!
